San Francisco Shopping Malls

Market Street Mall Reviews

San Francisco's Newest Downtown Shopping Mall

Although not all of the Westfield Centre Building is brand-new, this conveniently located shopping center has just added nearly $500 million of construction to make it a cutting-edge new fashion mall. With its exquisite design and its array of shopping selections, it makes a great place to enjoy a luxurious San Francisco afternoon. With its convenient location and easy-to-navigate design, it also makes a terrific spot to get some quick shopping done in a hurry.

With over 400 roomy stores, the new mall offers a range of shopping options for the diverse group of people who make up San Francisco. The biggest claim to fame of the new store is the world’s second-largest Bloomingdale’s which has opened up on the Fifth Street side of the building. The building also includes a brand new H&M branch, the popular clothing and accessories store whose first San Francisco location (which opened last year) was the largest ever for the established company. Other new stores in the Westfield Centre Building include Blu by Antik, Borders Books, Abercrombie & Fitch, Godiva Chocolates and Guess.

In addition to offering a range of shopping selections, the Westfield San Francisco Centre meets the other needs of shoppers. Located near the heart of the San Francisco District, it is convenient to stop in for a lunchtime bite at the food court which features such choices as Rubio’s, Segafredo Zanetti and Steak Escape. Alternatively, you can purchase gourmet groceries from Bristol Farms to be enjoyed when you get home. During a break from shopping, you can enjoy a movie at the new Century Theaters location. Or for a truly relaxing break from shopping, you can spend some time getting pampered at the new Burke Williams Day Spa. For those of us who aren’t able to plan such treats in advance, there is also a staff of chair masseuses on site of the new mall.

What is truly a treat at this shopping haven is the beautiful design of the building. Its decorative flair is exhibited both inside and out, from the glass-walled Fifth Street exterior to the sweeping dome ceiling as viewed from inside. The large building is easy to navigate with signage everywhere letting you know where you are at and where the larger stores are located. Interactive maps allow you to easily select which stores you are interested in finding and then to see a route of how to reach them from where you stand.

The Westfield San Francisco Centre is bordered on one side by the financial district of Market Street and on the other by Mission Street in the up-and-coming SoMA neighborhood. It is easily accessible off of the BART and underground MUNI rides and is also located just off of the Powell-Market cable car turnaround.
