Levende Lounge
San Francisco Restaurant Review
Levende Lounge elegantly serves world fusion small plates. When you walk in, you will be treated to a full bar and cocktail menu. They also
host international and local Djs for their nightly entertainment.
On our visit we sampled their offerings from each of their courses. We had the butternut squash soup and the roasted beet salad as “a good
start.” Though not meant for sharing, the butternut squash soup was quite tasty. It had a very smooth texture and very flavorful. The beet salad was
excellent! I would highly recommend the beet salad to everyone! The mizuna and haricot vert was drizzled with a maple and mustard vinaigrette that was just a
perfect combination. Alongside it was a couple of pecan crusted warm goat cheese and pieces of gold and red beets.
In the “next step,” we sampled the mini maine lobster & shrimp cakes. This offering was another winner. We were served 6 mini cakes
on top of a lemon vinaigrette/lobster nage which was just tasty. The roasted corn had a kick of jalapeno.
We also “didn't forget” to order the warm bread served along side olive oil infused with garlic, citrus, cilantro, and scallion. I wished
that they'd give us more warm bread though.
In “another level” we ordered the filet mignon. This was sliced and layered with gold potatoes and portabella mushroom. This was all
served with a caramelized onion-balsamic demi-glace. On the side was warm blue cheese.
We happen to have gone on a slow night due to the holidays though I imagine it can get pretty loud in the restaurant if it is full of patrons.
You can also dance on certain nights after dinner hours. They also offer valet parking for $10 which we highly recommend. Street parking is available but I'm just
not sure of the neighborhood.
