The Omni Hotel
San Francisco Hotel Review
500 California Street @ Kearny
Highly recommended, especially for business travelers.
Right in the heart of the Financial District across the street from the Bank of America building, the Omni Hotel is perfect for business
travelers. With a big, sweeping staircase at the entrance, it opens up into a large lobby with Italian marble, crystal chandeliers, and plenty of couches and
chairs to sit and wait or work.
Its décor is fancy yet friendly, with large fresh flower arrangements and furnishings that are lavish but inviting. It is not located
directly by lots of tourist attractions or events - you have to walk at least a couple of blocks to explore something other than the amazing skyscrapers of
the Financial District. However, it is right by the Cable Cars, and the view from the top of the Bank of America building is famous.
The Omni is also within walking distance of Chinatown, which has great food and culture, and Nob Hill, where you can find some of the most
beautiful vistas in town (not without a steep hike though). A lot of little cafes and coffee shops are nearby, too. It has excellent and friendly service and
an upscale yet intimate atmosphere.
The Omni is in a great location for business travelers, and accommodates all types of guest - business, family, and friends. Its 362 rooms
and 15 suites are decorated in Florentine Renaissance style, and have all the amenities expected of a luxury hotel. The Omni provides high speed internet in
its guest and conference rooms, and it has a 24-hour business center. The hotel boasts Bob's Steak and Chop House, winner of the DiRona Award and a perfect
restaurant for both business meals and family gatherings.
Bob's Bar provides a comfortable atmosphere to sit in the afternoon or evening and watch the cable cars go by. While the hotel does have
a full-service health club, it also provides portable equipment packages so guests can exercise in their own rooms on their own time. Valet parking is
available, and several self-parking garages are also nearby. The hotel's multilingual staff is very friendly and accommodating, making guests and busy
travelers feel right at home. The Omni also has an Omni Kids Program so children can explore the hotel, too. This hotel is highly recommended for business
travelers because of its location in the heart of the Financial District near tons of great restaurants and away from much of the tourist traffic.
