Mendocino's North Coast
Romantic Bed & Breakfast Heaven

The Town of Mendocino Borders the Rugged North Coast
You can go to a magic land of peace and relaxation only four hours North of San Francisco. Enjoy a beautiful drive up the coast on highway 1
or drive through the redwood forests on highway 128. Mendocino is a tiny coastal village of less than 1,000 villagers. The town, used for the filming of James
Dean's movie "East of Eden", is utterly beautiful. In addition, the main business of the town is tourism -- with over 15 different bed and breakfasts.
Ten miles to the north is the less "cutesy" town of Fort Bragg. You will see the milling of hundreds of redwood trees being sadly logged to build
suburban redwood decks.
Camping is also plentiful at California State's Russian Gulch state park and Van Damme state park for only about $15/night. When I visit the
area, I stay at inn's located between Mendocino and Fort Bragg. Most inn's have coastal views from their rooms and offer highly personalized service.

Quaint Town of Mendocino
Mendocino & Fort Bragg are a wonderful way to escape San Francisco for a few nights. The trip can be an extension of a
wine country tour also. If you can afford the time, don't miss this quiet getaway.
