Prescott Hotel
Kimpton Hotels - San Francisco Review
545 Post Street @ Taylor - Union Square Area
Scott writes, "Kudos to Kimpton Hotels' Prescott Hotel in the hustle & bustle of Union
Square. While the rooms were less than spacious, a fairly common attribute in San Francisco, we certainly enjoyed the bargain price. Centrally located,
clean and adjoining Puck's Postorio Restaurant. You'd be hard pressed to find a more accomodating staff for any amount of money
and the combination of modern conveniences within a historical ambience was fabulous.
Make sure to visit Postorio during your stay, however short. The daily menu was overtly geared towards
seafood lovers, and the noise level indicative of a fully housed eatery, but reasonable prices and impeccable service aided the fantastic cuisine."
The Edwardian decor of hotel shines in all 164 rooms by Kimpton Hotels. The lobby's living room features a warm hearth decorated with California artifacts,
watercolors, and stained glass. Guests receive preferred seating at Postrio restaurant (Wolfgang Puck) next door. All rooms enjoy complimentary coffee and
tea, with the club premium level receiving a continental buffet breakfast and Postrio cocktail reception daily. The hotel's guests also have access (fee) to
a gym. The cherry furnishings in the rooms include empire-style columned headboards, bow-front armoires, and dressers topped with black granite.
Other unique features include: complimentary terry-cloth robes, complimentary limousines to the Financial District, and other luxurious
privileges. While hotel prices fluctuate rapidly -- prices quoted ranged from $175-$345 with a median price quote of $245.
